Jamaica Link Ministries (JLM) was founded in
2001 to connect Jamaican leaders and Christian organizations
with churches around the world that are willing to come alongside
them and support the work they are doing in their local communities.
JLM is a non-profit organization that acts as an umbrella
under which many ministries in Jamaica can get the assistance
they need to flourish. These include local churches, Fairview
Baptist Bible College, Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf,
Robin’s Nest Children's Home, Child Evangelism Fellowship,
and many local public schools, orphanages and community organizations.
By connecting churches and individuals in North
America with organizations in Jamaica, long-term partnerships
have been formed to ensure that the established local ministries
remain (or once again become) healthy and able to fulfill
their ministry here in Jamaica. We are always looking to form
additional partnerships with churches and individuals that
feel called to work alongside us in supporting these local
ministries.
Short-term missions groups provide much needed
assistance and encouragement for local ministries, orphanages
and schools. Financial support from individuals and churches
is another essential part of rejuvenating the existing churches
and Christian organizations here.
In 2001, Jamaica Link Ministries founded
Fairhaven
Ministry Empowerment Centre to house short-term missions groups that
are coming to work in Jamaica. Fairhaven provides a central
base of operation for many missions groups. Fairhaven is ideally
located a few miles from the airport and 30 steps from the
ocean. The accommodations at Fairhaven cater to missions groups,
featuring connected rooms, kitchenettes, a common living and
dining area for meals and group devotions as well as affordable
rates.
Today Jamaica Link Ministries is committed to
rejuvenating and furthering the influence of existing ministries
in Jamaica. JLM is looking to link short-term missions groups
with the abundant needs in Jamaica. By discussing the talents
