Robin's Nest is a Christian children's home
begun in 1998 by Michelle Robinette. Michelle has a mother's
heart and an amazing amount of faith, dedication and love
which she distributes with abandon to the children living
at Robin's Nest and also to visitors and volunteers. Robin's
Nest is privately funded by churches and individuals in the
States.
Vision: To raise the standard
and quality of childcare across the island of Jamaica; to
improve the ratio of adults to children in childcare settings;
to abolish the mindset that physically, mentally, and otherwise
challenged children are second-class citizens.
Mission: We pray that Robin's
Nest will provide a nurturing, loving, safe, Christ-centered
atmosphere in which all children will grow at their own speed
--physically, mentally, and spiritually -- so they may develop
their own individual gifts, talents and abilities and become
the person who God intended
How you can help Robin's Nest
Recently Robin's Nest moved to a new location
approximately 25 minutes outside of Montego Bay. They are
in the process of purchasing this property, which will be
their permenant location. They need to raise a significant
amount of money during the next few years for make this
possible.
There is a need for a back-up generator
system. There are frequent power outages at their new location.
Cost to purchase and install this system is approx $400
US.
There is always a need for disposable diapers.
A more complete list of needs can be sent upon request.
